The 2017 Outlander boasts an elegant, robust look. Mitsubishi's "Dynamic Shield" design stays true to Outlander's history of commanding, athletic styling. Note the style of the front fascia, from its rugged bumper to its large and dominant chrome and silver grille with gloss black bumper accent. With available sleek LED headlamps, chrome accents and 18" alloy wheels, the 2017 Outlander will turn heads so fast that onlookers may experience whiplash.
Performance // FOR WHATEVER LIFE THROWS AT YOU
The 2017 Outlander continues to be unique among the competition, offering both a standard 2.4L SOHC 4-cylinder engine with CVT and an available 3.0L SOHC V6 engine with 6-speed automatic transmission. With up to 3,500 lbs of towing capacity, it pulls its weight – and then some.
SUPER ALL-WHEEL CONTROL SYSTEM (S-AWC)*
Available Super All-Wheel Control combines several advanced technologies to give you maximum traction. The Active Front Differential (AFD) distributes engine power between left and right on the front axle. Active Stability Control (ASC) helps keep the vehicle on its intended path when cornering and the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) along with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) improves control and stability under hard braking. And with four driver-selectable modes, including NORMAL, SNOW, LOCK and the AWC ECO Mode, the Outlander is ready to help you handle various conditions.
TWO EFFICIENT YET POWERFUL MIVEC ENGINES
The 2017 Outlander is equipped with a 166 horsepower, 2.4L MIVEC engine that achieves 30 highway MPG3, or upgrade to GT for even more performance with the powerful 224 horsepower, 3.0L MIVEC engine.
TWO SMART TRANSMISSIONS
The smooth-accelerating CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with Acceleration Control is designed to use less oil for even greater efficiency. Feeling a bit more sporty? The 3.0-liter MIVEC V6 has a 6-speed automatic for a powerful engine that's both clean and efficient.
Standard on the GT trim, you'll find another commitment to the highest level of performance. Paddle shifters bring added excitement and control, letting you upshift or downshift with just the tap of a finger for a dynamic driving experience inspired by our rally heritage.
Being in touch with the road is one of the most important aspects of driving, and the 2017 Outlander connects car and driver like few others. We designed the suspension, steering and even the body to give you accurate handling and enhanced steering feedback for a smoother, safer ride.
Interior // DESIGNED FOR DRIVING PLEASURE.
A heated steering wheel, Smart Display Audio featuring Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, and a redesigned centre console are just a few of the available 2017 Outlander interior enhancements that make it as comfortable as it is intuitive. After all, it's what's on the inside that counts.
The 2017 Outlander offers plenty of room for seven passengers with its standard third-row seating. You can also quickly change the seating configuration to meet your needs with the quick-folding 60/40 split second row and 50/50 split third row seats.
SMART TOUCHSCREEN TECHNOLOGY
Available Smartphone Link Display Audio system gives you access to convenient apps, vehicle information and features like hands-free Bluetooth®, all on an easy-to-use 7" touchscreen display.
No matter where your weekends take you, with optional roof racks and up to 63.3 cubic feet of cargo area, Outlander is ready for the challenge.
Safety // ADVANCED SAFETY.
The 2017 Outlander's list of safety features just got longer. We've added available Blind Spot Warning (BSW) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Multi-View Camera System (MVCS). Combined with available Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) – now featuring pedestrian detection – as well as Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), you can go further and be safer.
ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The available Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)4 system uses radar technology to judge distances between you and the vehicle ahead, helping you maintain a safe driving distance. If the car moves out of your lane or goes beyond your set speed, the system will resume your set speed.
FORWARD COLLISION MITIGATION
The available Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) system5 utilizes both laser radar and camera technology to determine if a frontal collision with a vehicle or pedestrian is imminent. If so, it warns the driver with audible and visual signals, and automatically applies moderate to emergency braking to reduce the severity of the collision and, if possible, prevent the collision.
REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT
When the Rear Cross Traffic Alert system7 detects a vehicle approaching from the side while you're backing up, the warning lights on both side mirrors will blink, a buzzer will sound to alert you and a warning message will appear on the information screen of the color multi-information display.
LANE DEPARTURE WARNING
The Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system uses an onboard camera to monitor lane position in front of the vehicle audibly and visually, alerting the driver if it detects the vehicle leaving its lane unintentionally.
MULTI-VIEW CAMERA SYSTEM
This advanced feature uses multiple cameras around the vehicle to create a composite, bird's-eye view of your Outlander in addition to a wide-angle view helping to show what's directly behind you.
BLIND SPOT WARNING AND LANE CHANGE ASSIST
Together Blind Spot Warning and Lane Change Assist7 alert you when a vehicle is in or approaching your blind spot. When a vehicle in the next lane is traveling at same speed or faster in the detection areas, a warning light will illuminate on the corresponding side mirror. If your turn signal is on, the warning light on the corresponding mirror will blink and the system will beep three times to alert you that it is unsafe to change lanes.
AUTO HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS
You don't have to worry about switching between low and high beams when driving in sporadically lighted areas. Your Outlander's Auto High Beam Headlights will do the work for you by automatically adjusting between the brightness levels depending on the surrounding light.
RISE BODY CONSTRUCTION
Mitsubishi's Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body utilizes crumple zones that route and absorb energy during high-impact collisions. Strategic reinforcements at key body points complement its side-impact door beams, giving your Mitsubishi a stable, secure base that's worth its weight in safety.
